Software Download Checksums After you download files from a Flying Pig Systems download page, you may want to verify that the files are not corrupted or otherwise unusable before you burn them to disc or upgrade your application. An .md5 is a simple text file that contains a "fingerprint" of each file within the download. Using md5sum.exe you can perform an md5 check on your downloads. If the md5's (fingerprints) match, you have an uncorrupted file.
