4) Playback

Fade Master macro

Use the FM syntax, e.g. FM2/50, to fade master 2 to 50%.

Remember Page Fader Values

This option in playback preferences means that when reloaded, a page's levels will remain where they were the last time the page was loaded. If the physical faders have been moved in the interim, a blue bar will be displayed until the fader has been moved within a small margin of the memorized position.

Restore Activity

This replaces Hog II 'Save Activity' for pages. It can be enabled or disabled by right clicking on a page cell in the page directory and selecting 'Enable Restore Activity'.

When enabled, it causes any trigger macros associated with the page to be executed when the page is loaded. To capture the activity of the current page, use the button on the page directory toolbar, which automatically stores the required macros in the page. Macros can also be edited or added manually (as per in cues) when the page directory is displayed as a spreadsheet. Note that disabling will not erase the macros, it simply stops them from executing. 'Capture Activity' however will wipe existing macros.

Flash Button Solo

This replaces Hog II 'swaps'. Pressing the flash button will temporarily bring all other playbacks to zero intensity. This option can be found in Cuelist Options > Controls, then press Set whilst the 'Click' entry is highlighted.

Link loop breakout options

These can be found in Cuelist Options > Cuelist, and are used to determine what happens when Go is pressed inside a link loop.

Playback Bars

The master number (and wing number) is displayed in any 'empty' cells in the playback bar. The console's masters are numbered '1' to '10', while wing masters also display the wing number before the master number. (e.g. '1/1' through '1/10' for wing 1, masters 1 through 10.)

Clicking on a cell in the playback bar is equivalent to pressing 'choose' for that master.

When a master is held over due to being active, the cuelist/scene name at the top of the cell is displayed in blue rather than the normal black.

When set to I-fader (the default), if the physical fader position does not match the intensity playback level for a given master (such as after using the fader on a different page), the level is displayed in blue. The physical fader level is now also displayed as a red ellipse to show the fader level relative to the playback level.

For each master, the bottom of the playback bar displays the intensity value and a small icon to indicate how the master fader is configured:

IPCB

Manual

Cuelists and scenes can also display the following icons:

HTP

High Priority

Low Priority

Release on other go

Persist on override

The height of playback bars can be resized by clicking and dragging on the top (or bottom) edge of the bar. The cursor will change to the vertical resize indicator when the mouse is over the correct area. The minimum size displays the top (name) and bottom (options) rows, with 4 rows in the middle for cue information. The height can be increased up to the maximum possible size of top and bottom rows with 10 rows of cue information.

When using USB playback wings with the console, extra playback bars can be displayed for the wings. These bars can be docked to the edge of an external screen, so that the playback information is displayed above the associated masters on the wings. Depending on the screen size and resolution, the block of ten playback cells may not line up with the physical position of the masters on the wing. To overcome this, it is possible to resize the block of 10 cells horizontally (so they line up with the masters on the wing) by clicking and dragging on either end of the block of cells. This functionality is only available for wing playback bars that are docked to the edge of a screen with a resolution of 1024x768 or higher.

Multiple Miniwings

Multiple playback wings can be connected to the console simultaneously. Each connected wing will display an extra playback bar on the desktop. When a wing is connected for the first time, it is assigned a set of playbacks that are associated with the wing's serial number. This association is persistant, and will last until the wing is removed from the show.

To manage the wings, a section has been added to the Control Panel that shows currently connected wings, wings that have been previously connected, and the surface number assigned to each wing. There are 3 control options for each wing:

Beacon flashes the choose LEDs for the selected wing to locate it when several wings are in use.
Remove allows diconnected wings and their surface number assignments to be 'forgotten' by the console.
Display hides or shows the playback bar for the selected wing.

The 'display' status is persistent, so if set to 'hidden', the playback bar will not reappear if the wing is disconnected and reconnected. Playback bars can also be hidden by right clicking on the bar to display a popup menu and selecting 'hide'.

If a wing is disconnected, it's playback bar will remain on screen (if not hidden). If "Remove" is pressed in the control panel, the playback bar will disappear.

When using wings with the Rackmount Control Unit, the first wing connected will control the default playbacks 1-10.

Persistent parameter functionality

It is possible to specify in the fixture window that a parameter is not releasable; i.e. it holds it's last position on a release. On the next programmed or cue playback value it will move from the last position to the new value. This is useful for items like scrollers which can be damaged by always resetting to their default when the programmer is cleared.
