- Burning Install CDs
What is an .ISO file?
The 'Clean Install' downloads available from this website are
provided as .iso files. An .iso file is a single 'disk image'
file that holds the entire contents of a CD-ROM. To
be used, the .iso file must first be extracted and burned
onto a CD-R/RW
disc
using
the
software
that
came with
your CD burner. Note that rather than 'copying' these files
onto a CD-R or RW, it is
necessary
to
use a
CD
burning program with support for burning .ISO image files directly.
We have tested DeepBurner, Nero, CDRWIN and Alcohol
120% to confirm they are capable of burning .iso image
files onto CD-R's, and recommend the use of one of these programs.
We have created step-by-step guides to explain how to use DeepBurner,
Nero, CDRWIN and Alcohol 120% to burn iso image files:
Burning Install CDs using DeepBurner.
Burning Install CDs using Nero.
Burning Install CDs using CDRWIN.
Burning Install CDs using Alcohol 120%.
